Dave Matthews Band Announces Benefit Concert for Victims of Helene and Milton

The Dave Matthews Band announced on Tuesday that they will host a benefit concert to support those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

The event, titled ‘Soulshine,’ is set for November 24 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, following two previously scheduled shows by the band at the venue on the 22nd and 23rd.

‘Soulshine’ promises an exciting lineup with performances by the Warren Haynes Band hailing from Asheville, NC, which was heavily affected by the hurricanes—alongside Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and Goose. Special guests include Trey Anastasio, Mavis Staples, Robert Randolph, Trombone Shorty, Joe Russo, Susan Tedeschi, and Derek Trucks.

All proceeds will go to the ‘Soulshine’ Concert Fund at the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, supporting Habitat for Humanity’s 2024 Hurricane Recovery fund and several nonprofits aiding recovery efforts in North Carolina and Florida, the states hit hardest by the storms, according to the band’s website.

Hurricane Helene, which struck last month, brought record rainfall to Appalachia and western North Carolina, causing severe flooding and over 200 fatalities across six states, making it the second-deadliest U.S. hurricane since Katrina. Less than two weeks later, Hurricane Milton landed near Siesta Key, Florida, as a Category 3 storm, bringing heavy rain, high winds, and widespread power outages, claiming at least 17 lives.

Additional benefit concerts have also been scheduled for hurricane relief, including Ben Folds’ ‘From Wilmington, with Love’ in Wilmington, NC, on Tuesday. Tickets for Dave Matthews Band’s ‘Soulshine’ go on sale to the general public on Thursday at 10 a.m. EDT.
