In the speech, Trump spoke about his first assassination attempt and his opponent Kamala Harris. There are verified claims.
Former president of U.S. Donald Trump on Saturday returned to Butler, Pennsylvania, the site of the first assassination attempt against him, to talk for his supporters just a month before Election Day.
12 months ago, on the same ground, a brutal assassin aimed to shut me down and to devastate the greatest movement, maga, in the history of our country’ Trump said on Saturday, referring to his ‘Make America Great Again’ symbol.
For 16 harrowing seconds during the gunfire, time stopped as this vicious monster unleashed pure evil from his sniper’s perch, not so far away. But by the hand of providence and the grace of God, that villain did not succeed in his goal.”
While addressing, Trump also spoke about Corey Comperatore, a firefighter who had been in the July 13 crowd and whom Thomas Mathew crooks, the suspect in Trump’s attempted assassination, killed. One of the bullets injured Trump’s ears.
A Secret Service counter sniper killed Crooks.
In Trump’s speech, he included claims about the Biden-Harris administration’s response to Hurricane Helene’s illegal immigration and the economy.
We fact-checked him.
According to Trump, illegal immigration was the lowest when he left office.
Trump: “I love that chart. I love that graph. Isn’t it a beautiful thing? Also beautiful because, look at the number, that is the day I left office. It was the lowest Border Patrol, the lowest it’s ever been, illegal Immigration.”
Trump mentioned misleading points on a chart originally posted by Johnson, a senator from Wisconsin.
He highlighted about a low migrant encounter during April 2020 and claimed that is when he left office. However, he had to end it in 2021.
That April 2020 period also marked the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, when lockdowns and travel were restricted and contributed to decreased migration.
This chart also shows the claims about Trump that he said, during the administration of Biden; there were many illegal immigration encounters like people from jails, prisons, or mental health hospitals. However, according to a report from U.S migration, there are no such records where you can say abnormal or criminal types of people entering the U.S.

US Vice President Kamala Harris has not said people affected by Hurricane Helene will only get $750 from the federal government.
However, according to Kamala Harris, the vice president of the U.S. people who are affected by the hurricane will not only get 750 dollars for their loss.
The $750 payment comes from FEMA’s Serious Needs Assistance program, which helps with urgent needs after a disaster like food, water, baby formula, medicines, and other emergency supplies. The White House said FEMA gave out over $1 million to more than 1,400 households in North Carolina within a day through this program.
As of October 4, FEMA reported that the Biden administration provided over $45 million in upfront funds to survivors of Hurricane Helene. FEMA also delivered more than 11.5 million meals, 3.32 million gallons of water, 150 generators, and 400,000 tarps to the affected area.
Trump claimed that the U.S. has more oil than Saudi Arabia, saying, “We have more liquid gold—oil and gas—under our feet than any nation, including Saudi Arabia and Russia.”
This is false. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Venezuela had the largest proven crude oil reserves in 2021 with 304 billion barrels, followed by Saudi Arabia, Iran, Canada, Iraq, and others. The U.S. ranked ninth with 61 billion barrels. However, the U.S. ranks first for coal reserves and fourth for natural gas.
