Harris Launches Media Blitz as Polls Show Tight Race with Trump

More than a quarter of the U.S. voters say that they want to know more about the vice president ahead of November’s election.

In the final week of the United States presidential race, Kamala Harris stepped into the media and appeared in front of every big and small interview to convince her voters.

the democratic candidate continued with her media blitz on Tuesday, appearing for an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and veteran broadcaster Howard Sterm, who used to be Trump’s friend once. She failed to make a major media appearance due to some reason cause of which she had to face huge criticism over her presidency in her early campaigns.

After launching her campaign on 21 July when she announced her first presidential bid and gave her first TV interview on 29 August.

This gap caused scrutiny of her media strategies. Margaret Sullivan, the veteran media critic, wrote in ‘the guardian newspaper that Harris had an obligation to tell the U.S. public ‘in an unscripted, open way’ what she stands for.

Harris should show that she understands that, in a democracy, the press – at least in theory – represents the public, and that the sometimes adversarial relationship between the press and government is foundational,” Sullivan said

Sullivan said,’ Harris should show that she understands, in a democracy, the press at least in theory represents the public and that sometimes adversarial relationship between the press and government is foundational, ‘

According to the surveys, it has indicated that the electorate desires to learn more about the democratic nominee before the election.

A September poll from Siena College and The New York Times showed that up to 28 percent of likely voters wanted to learn more about Harris. In response to this, Harris’s campaign has ramped up media appearances over the past week. She is now in a close race with Trump, the Republican nominee, as the November 5 election approaches.
