Intel has officially unveiled its next-generation graphics cards: the Intel Arc B580 and B570, both built on the new “Battlemage” architecture. These GPUs are designed to provide budget-friendly options for gamers looking to upgrade their PC gaming experience without breaking the bank.
Following in the footsteps of Intel’s previous A770 and A750 models, which focused on 1080p gaming with some ray tracing capabilities, the B580 and B570 take performance up a notch. The new architecture introduces XMX AI cores, enhancing XeSS (Xe Super Sampling) to better compete with Nvidia’s DLSS and Sony’s PSSR technology.
The Arc B580 is the higher-end option of the two, equipped with 20 Xe-Cores across five compute units, or “Render Slices” as Intel calls them. Each Xe-Core includes 8 Vector Engines and 8 XMX AI cores, giving the B580 a total of 160 shader cores and 160 AI accelerators. With 12GB of GDDR6 memory, this GPU delivers impressive performance for just $249.
On the other hand, the Arc B570 offers 18 Xe-Cores with 144 Vector Engines and AI accelerators, paired with 10GB of VRAM. For comparison, this is more memory than the 8GB offered by Nvidia’s $299 RTX 4060, making it a competitive option in the budget market.
Intel claims that these new GPUs offer significant performance boosts over their predecessors, with the B580 providing up to 80% faster performance than the A750 in some games. With these improvements, Intel is targeting 1440p gamers, which require more powerful graphics cards than 1080p gaming setups. However, a deeper performance analysis will be necessary to fully evaluate these claims, so stay tuned for upcoming reviews.
The Intel Arc B580 will be available starting December 13 for $249, while the Arc B570 will launch on January 16, beginning at $219.
