Jennifer Lopez Cancels Summer Tour Amid Rumors of Marital Strain with Ben Affleck: 'I'm Completely Heartbroken

Jennifer Lopez has made the difficult decision to cancel her highly anticipated This Is Me … Live summer tour, which was set to begin on June 26 in Orlando. In a heartfelt message shared with fans through her newsletter, Lopez explained that she is “completely heartsick and devastated” about the cancellation, but emphasized that it was “absolutely necessary” at this time. Although she didn’t elaborate on the reasons, concert promoter Live Nation stated that Lopez needs to take time off to focus on her family, children, and close friends.

The timing of the tour’s cancellation comes amid mounting speculation about Lopez’s marriage to Ben Affleck. The couple, who married in July 2022 after rekindling their romance, have recently been at the center of rumors regarding marital strain. Multiple outlets, including People magazine, have reported that they are currently living apart, though neither Lopez nor Affleck have publicly addressed these claims.

Lopez had been preparing for the tour in early May, promoting her long-delayed album This Is Me … Now, which reflects on her rekindled relationship with Affleck. She had also released two films alongside the album, including This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, which featured her husband, and the documentary Greatest Love Story Never Told, which delves into their relationship. Despite the personal nature of these projects, Lopez revealed that Affleck was not entirely comfortable with the level of public exposure they brought.

Ticket sales for the summer tour were reportedly underwhelming, which led Lopez to rebrand the event to feature a mix of her greatest hits. Amid the ongoing rumors about her marriage, Lopez had been focusing on her work, including rehearsals for the tour and the release of her Netflix film Atlas, which debuted as the top movie in 55 countries over Memorial Day weekend. Affleck, busy filming The Accountant 2, was not present at the premiere events.

While the future of the tour remains uncertain, Lopez assured her fans that she would make it up to them in the future, expressing her gratitude and love for their support. “I promise we will all be together again,” she wrote. “I love you all so much. Until next time.
