Manchester United Appoints Portugal's Ruben Amorim as New Manager

Ruben Amorim has signed a new contract with the famous English club, which will move until 2027, starting in his new role on November 11. Ruben Amorim is replacing Erik Ten Hag; Amorim is now named the new manager of Manchester United,

Ruben is a 39-year-old Portuguese coach who had won two Primeira Liga titles with Sporting Lisbon, he is been a good leader throughout his career, now has signed a deal at Old Trafford until 2027 and will join the club on November 11.

It seems that Manchester United is very excited to onboard Ruben Amorim as the manager for head coach of the men’s first team, which is subject to work visa requirements, the club said on its website on Friday morning.

He will join the club until June 2027, with an option for an additional year, once he completes his commitments to his current club.’

United praised Amorim as ‘one of the most exciting and highly regarded young coaches in European football. A highly accomplished player and coach, his accolades include winning the Primeira Liga twice with Sporting CP, including their first title in 19 years,’ according to the club’s statement.

In the meantime, interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain in charge until Amorim arrives at Old Trafford during the November international break. Amorim’s first match will be away against struggling Ipswich on November 24.

United dismissed Ten Hag on Monday following a 2-1 defeat to West Ham, which left them in 14th place in the Premier League with only three wins from nine matches. Amorim quickly became the club’s primary target, and Sporting confirmed in a statement to the Lisbon Stock Exchange earlier this week that United was prepared to meet his release clause of 10 million euros ($11 million).
