Tua Tagovailoa Cleared to Play Sunday Against Cardinals

The concussion protocol of Tua Tagovailoa has been cleared. He will be participating in Miami Dolphins quarterback and is set to play on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, their head coach Mike McDaniel stated that the medical professionals supported his return to Miami Dolphins and while he arrived for a practice match, he met with a doctor who was from outside.

McDaniel said, ‘After going through the process, he is out of the protocol,’ almost anyone who diagnosed him, declared that he can play football now,’ this proves that everyone wants him to play in the team,’ his journey is not ending here.

When asked about the starting quarterback, McDaniel suggested a decision was near but preferred to let practice play out. Tagovailoa returned to practice this week following a concussion suffered on September 12 against the Buffalo Bills. After being placed on injured reserve, he was cleared to play. The Dolphins faced challenges in his absence, posting a 1-3 record and averaging just 8.75 points per game.

Tagovailoa’s concussion occurred while diving for a first down and taking a hit from Bills safety Damar Hamlin, though he walked off unaided and reported feeling symptom-free the next day. McDaniel explained that placing him on injured reserve allowed for essential recovery time, guided by expert consultations.

Tagovailoa chose not to wear a Guardian Cap, a protective helmet cover, calling it a “personal choice,” but he wears the VICIS ZERO2 MATRIX ID QB helmet, ranked as the safest for quarterbacks by the NFL. Addressing injury concerns, he expressed his commitment, saying, “I appreciate your concern. I really do. I love this game and I love it to the death of me.”

Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith emphasized the importance of Tagovailoa’s return, noting, “His familiarity with our system and leadership is invaluable for our offense. We are excited to have one of our captains back for Sunday.
